Tahlo'a Relanah
Sharlayan AcademicMuch to Tahlo'a's dismay, the life of an Archon and devoted academic is more than just research — it's proposals and grant applications and colloquiums.Tahlo'a's research focuses on Miqo'te anthropology, specifically on cultural norms, archeological sites, and folklore, though his fringe focus (much to the chagrin of his colleagues) is his hypothesis of intentional Allagan interference in Miqo'te physiology leading to the skewed sex distribution of his conspecifics. Recent discoveries brought back from Azys Lla, the New World, and an even more distant star by fellow Archons and his current field work in Tural have bolstered his resolve and his research.Tahlo'a and R'elyn shared the same boarding house in Gridania when Tahlo'a was living in-residence for field research.Late 20s, currently resides in Old Sharlayan

"How do short-lived Spoken not break down in existential despair when you have to wait -years- for approval to even -begin- a project?"
Tershil Valiant
Sharlayan Researcher
[Antagonist]Tershil came to Sharlayan an expert in Spoken physiology. Bitterly driven from his forest home during early Imperial incursions, Tershil joined the local resistance as a guerrilla fighter and medic. He was not necessarily one for orders and worked mostly alone. Captured by Garlean forces and assumed a civilian, Tershil was given a choice — work towards citizenship or face indefinite forced labor.Tershil leveraged his triage experience for placement with colonial ranks as a medic to avoid fighting his own people. Though it took years, eventually he worked his way into formal academia to remove himself from the theater of war entirely. His aptitude did not go unnoticed; he was recruited by a principal investigator and assigned to assist in their research. Initially, his projects were rather mundane, but as the war intensified and unthinkable attacks on Imperial castrums occurred, Tershil found himself in the peculiar position of outliving several high-ranking Garlean PIs and many of their assistants and was brought into some of the more extreme research the Empire was conducting. After the liberation of Ala Mhigo, with some assistance Tershil managed to escape the notice of the Alliance and traveled from Gyr Abania to Sharlayan, taking on a new name and purpose and putting knowledge gained through misery towards a new use. However, his initial optimism has been tested by disillusionment — he did not anticipate the grueling, plodding Sharlayan bureaucratic academic process to be so tedious, confining, and restrictive, a curse that interferes with his research.Tershil paid R'elyn a favor as the former traveled to Limsa Lominsa, and while the latter was suspicious of the man, he was not about to turn down help to avoid bleeding to death on assignment.
Self-assured, theatrical, callous

Tadja Muujuk
Shroud Shadow
[Antagonist]Bane of Wailers, Serpents, and merchants, Tadja viciously defends her territory and the vagabonds who call it home, cast-offs from Gridanian society with just as much of a right to the forest as any Shroudborne. The Trapper's League places good coin in the hands of any adventurer willing to brave the poacher's territory along the Arbor Route and remove their presence — traps, snares, and contraband, though should they encounter retaliation, hopefully they're well-armed...Early 20s
Cunning, loyal, cruel
